Our aim is to engage students in developing practical knowledge, technical mastery, musical perception and aesthetic sensitivity to the highest degree possible. All this through active participation in a learning programme designed by the appropriate ITM specialist.
We aim to inspire students to reach their full potential and provide many pathways and opportunities that can lead to their life-long love of music.
Students can take part in musical opportunities both within school and in the wider community - events such as the NZCT Chamber Music competitions, NZ Secondary Schools' Symphony Orchestra, Smokefree Rock Quest, NZCF Big Sing, Aurora Festival, Jazz Quest, Southern Jam, Canterbury Schools Regional Orchestra and Young Singers in Harmony competition.
